The Roman Forum

Julius Ceasar is buried here, a temple to the god Saturn lay in ruins here.  Vestal virgins spent their lives keeping a fire lit, and tirumphal arches decried Rome’s greatness to the citizens of the empire, and the once pagan Temple of Romulus is now a Catholic Church with the most beautiful doors I’ve ever seen. img_1538img_1534img_1582img_1526There is so much to behold at the Forum.  Although it was hot and crowded, and probably our farthest walk of the whole trip, it was worth every moment.
